A NOTE FROM TEACHER TESS

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to SY 2010-2011.  As we begin a new school year, we look with anticipation

and excitement at providing new learning opportunities for students to become joyful,

life-long learners.

TLC:  A Peace-loving Community

One reason for our excitement  is our plan to establish a peaceable community among

the students of TLC – empowering them by instituting conflict resolution skills.

Only when we embrace  a culture of peace and non-violence can we truly claim to

have provided your children a joyful place for learning. To this end, we have

launched our Peace Campaign among our students.

School Calendar + Family Calendar = Better Participation of Parents

We have firmed up our School Calendar of Activities for the entire year so

that you, too, can plan your family activities and align them with the

school activities of your children. Hopefully, you would be better able to

participate in our various school activities.

Recognition of Honors for SY 2009-2010

If you will recall, our school year extended all the way till the end of March and

there was no more time to recognize the academic achievement of some students

who had performed well.  We will be recognizing them this June 28, 2010

during an appropriate Recognition Ceremony at 8:00 a.m. at the Multi Purpose Hall.

This would also serve as an inspiration to other students to aspire for academic

honors like their peers.

We have invited the parents of the honor students to be present to boost the

morale of these children who have worked so hard for their sterling scholastic

achievement.

Congratulations to the TLC Academic Excellence Awardees!

New Appointments for the School Year

I wish to announce the appointment of:

Teacher June Solomero         Coordinator for Pre School

Teacher Nel Reyes Assistant Coordinator for Student Affairs.

Teacher April Araja Assistant Coordinator for Upper Grades

Teacher June took over from Teacher Mira who resigned last summer for health reasons.

Teacher Nel took over from Teacher Clarisse who has requested to be moved to the

SpEd Department.  Teacher April, on the other hand, is taking a new position; the

counterpart of Teacher April in the lower grades is Teacher Bev Cruz who is

Assistant Coordinator for Lower Grades.  This reorganization is intended to decentralize

the supervision of the upper grades and the lower grades which should result in

better monitoring of the two areas.

TLC in SY 2010-2011

This is how the year will unfold.  The strong areas, we have made stronger; the

areas that need attention, we have not spared time and effort to improve – all

these to effect a learning environment wherein which students will feel comfortable

and confident to respond to various learning situations inside and outside the

classroom. This is TLC’s raison d’etre.

Parents’ Orientation

In this connection, I invite all TLC parents to attend the Parents’ Orientation on,

Friday, July 2, 2010 at 4:00p.m. at the Multi Purpose Hall.  Your presence will

manifest your interest and support for our efforts in this task of educating your

children.  We in TLC will draw inspiration from your support that indeed this business

of education is a partnership.
